I first discovered DAUB at the One of a Kind show and wrote my first blog post on them in 2014. Back then, the collection consisted mostly of active wear and seamless panties (which are the best I’ve ever owned). The brand has evolved since then by adding everyday wardrobe basics and a flagship store location in Vancouver at 3012 Granville Street. What first caught my attention was the colour and style of the garments. I have been a fan ever since.
DAUB is a female founded, Canadian manufactured brand with small batch production using sustainable fabrics to reduce environmental impact. Lexi Soukoreff, Creative Director of this brilliant brand which started in 2010 in Vancouver, describes her line as one that explores colour, pattern, functionality and surface design techniques. Lexi is focused on making garments that are built for longevity so they hold up to her customers busy lifestyles.
DAUB collections are broken down into 3 areas: DAUB | ACTIVE, Daub + Design and DAUB Basics. The DAUB tie dye process starts with adding colour to a solid colour fabric. Through a hand dye process, Lexi, a textile artist, creates eye catching sophisticated patterns for all her garments resulting in unique one of a kind pieces. You can read more on the specifics about the dye process here. One of the things I love the most about DAUB products is how soft and comfy they are. This is done intentionally with fabrics being chosen specifically for their softness.
My favouite pieces include: Charli Crew, Riley Legging, Juliet Longsleeve, and Seamless Undies. FYI the Charli Crew and Juliet Longsleeve are great work from home items. Very comfy and nice enough to pass as business casual for those work video calls.
